2011 Typhoon Yellowtail Shootout Results

The 2011 Yellowtail Shootout had 52 boats and 183 anglers compete for just under $14,000 in cash and $5,500 in prizes for a total prize purse just under $20,000. Fishing was scratchy at best but a few teams managed to find some fish.

1st Place - Profish - 23.3 lbs


Prize: $2,600 cash for 1st place. 4 days and 3 nights with 1 day of fishing at Hotel Buena Vista in East Cape, Accurate BX-400, Typhoon sunglasses, case, visor and t-shirt for each team member, a custom bloodydecks wrapped rod, a Get the Gaff gaff and bait net, a Woody Wax Kit, Montauk Tackle Co. shirts for each team member and a 1 Year Subscription to Fish Dope. Profish was also in the $100 and $300 dollar jackpots and took home an additional $8,460 in cash. At the end of the day, they walked away $11,260 in cash and $2,800 in prizes.

2nd/3rd Place (tie) - Team Bite This and Team Biteme - 23.2 lbs
Prize: Each team receives $910 cash, a rod/reel combo from Maximum Angler, Typhoon Visor and Woody Wax kit.

4th Place - Team Cheezburger - 22.6 lbs
Prize: $390 cash, Avet JX 2-speed and a Get the Gaff bait net.

5th Place - Team Biteme - 22.2 lbs
Prize: $260 cash, Woody Wax kit and Graftech rod.

6th Place - Profish - 21.8 lbs
Prize: $200 cash and a Avet MX.

7th Place - Megabyte - 21.6 lbs
Prize: $200 cash and an Avet SX

8th Place (Tie)- Cazador and Team Tigerblood - 21.3 lbs
Prize: Each team gets $50 cash. One team receives a Black Tip jig bag and Marlin Magazine hat and the other team receives a pair of Fishworks shorts.

Dash for Cash - 7 teams entered the Dash for Cash but none brought a fish back. Each team will receive a $200 gift card from Dana Landing Market and Fuel dock for participating.
